The LHS Memorial Scholarship Committee meets routinely in the Career Center. Interested parents and new members are welcome to come. The Memorial Scholarship Fund is an endowment that was created in 1976 by a group of community members for the purpose of using interest earnings and other sources of funding to award scholarships to graduating seniors. Since that date, $96,150 has been awarded to deserving LHS students. A candidate for our scholarship is active not only in school, but also in the community and usually demonstrates good academic skills. Adult volunteers are needed to serve on the committee. Committee members help with a fundraiser during the year and review and rank scholarship applications. Contacts: Email the Committee at lhsmemorialscholarship@gmail.com or call Lynn Desmarais at 425-255-1189 or Karalyn Pellegrini at 425-204-3225. The 2011-2012 meeting dates are Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 28, Jan. 23, Feb. 27, April 5 and 23, and May 21. More information may be found here.
The 2012 Grad Night Committee is up and running! Thank you, 2012 parents, for stepping up! If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Binkley at theresabinkley@comcast.net. Class of 2012 Grad Party Ticket Order Form.
We want to say a big "thank you" to our families who have committed to this year’s party and to the many who have contributed for fundraising over the past years. Our plan is to have a safe party in a controlled environment for your students. For the Grad Night 2012 party to be a success we need families to commit to purchase tickets. We need a financial commitment of at least 60 students by Jan. 15. We will work with a payment plan on an individual basis. Final ticket balance must be paid by May, 2012. Without your commitment, the Grad Night party will be cancelled. A deposit has already been made to West Coast Entertainment in order to reserve a location, date and time for the June 12 party. This money will be forfeited if the Grad night party is cancelled. To send payments, confirmation, or to set up a payment plan, please contact Ken Mack at kenmack1964@msn.com. We do have a box in the LHS Main Office for payments to be dropped off or you can contact Ken Mack for an address to mail payments. We are a volunteer committee and want the best for our students. Please contact us if you have specific questions.
If you are interested in being part of this committee, or would like more information on what a Grad Night Party is and why we need to start so early, please come to a meeting! Please know the success of even having a grad night party depends solely on the parents. This will be the absolutely last thing you will do for your child at high school! Please e-mail Carrie at sidekik@msn.com if you have any questions. Class of 2013 Grad Party Ticket Order Form.
