Counseling Support

Hazel Health

Students can access mental health teletherapy services through the HEART program. Hazel HEART program offers no-cost teletherapy services to students, both at home and at school. Students can access virtual therapy from home Monday through Friday from 7am - 7pm (closed 12/25, 12/26, 1/1).

How to request for counseling:

  • Students can go directly to the counseling office to ask for help with a referral submission.
  • Parents can also directly refer their students by filling out the consent form online at https://my.hazel.co/rentonschools/info and then calling Hazel directly to schedule their intake appointment at 1-800-76-HAZEL.

Renton Area Youth Services (RAYS) and Sound Mental Health (SMH) are both offering Virtual Counseling Sessions for any student who qualifies for Medicare.

Teen Link Hotline:

Teen volunteers are trained to listen to your concerns and talk with you about whatever’s on your mind – bullying, drug and alcohol concerns, relationships, stress, depression or any other issues you’re facing.

Washington Listens Hotline:

The state of Washington has set up a new resource called Washington Listens that is aimed specifically at people who are experiencing anxiety or other emotional issues connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit the Washington Listens website,  or call the support line, 1-833-681-0211. It is available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. 

24 Hours Crisis Line:  

Provides immediate help to individuals, families, and friends of people in emotional crisis at any time of day or night.
